You may be asking yourself: Is counseling or therapy right for me?

All great questions along with many others people just like you ask themselves when they are contemplating therapy. It is natural to feel some apprehension, or fear. Let me take a moment to answer some of those questions:

Therapy or counseling, is helpful for a lot of people, even people who don’t think that talking will really help. Therapy is more than talking, it is also about being heard, feeling understood. Therapy is about a unique relationship in which people can talk about what ever they want or need to, with a person who does not judge, who listens, empathizes, affirms you, and helps you to make the steps forward that you want to make. Not all therapists are the same, we are as different as everyone else, so finding the therapist that is right for you is important. You can learn more about me by clicking here.

To make counseling services available, Payton Counseling Services is in-network with several insurance companies. To see if your health insurance company is listed, click Insurance. If you don’t see your health insurance company listed, please call or email, as some companies may be a part of a contract with another company. We can help find out.

As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 15 years of experience as a therapist, and teaching others about mental health issues and how to help people, I am well trained and practiced in a variety of therapy approaches, and treatment needs. It is my mission to hear you and hear your needs, and help you to find the path that best helps you to achieve your desired goals.

I am here to help not judge, or find a label, although diagnosis helps to identify the issue and to better understand how to help.

When we meet for the first time, I will explain confidentiality for therapy, and how it works. Confidentiality or privacy is a corner stone to the therapeutic process, and a value at Payton Counseling Services.

As for cost, I accept in-network insurance from several different plans. When you call for the first time, I will have you share your insurance information, and verify your benefits so that you and I have a good understanding of what to expect. I also accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Health Savings Accounts.
